This is a bit of a strange one, but there’s a new Massive Attack demo suddenly doing the rounds on the internet. Supposedly sprung up yesterday on the Massive Attack Facebook page, it’s already causing quite a furore. It’s the first new Massive Attack material since 2009′s Heligoland – that’s of course if you don’t count the split 12-inch release with Burial.
Anyway, here’s the demo as posted on a mysterious Soundcloud page…

So, this one was a bit of a bolt out of the blue. Plug, aka Wagon Christ, aka Luke Vibert, has a load of unreleased d’n’b stuff from 1996 that Ninja Tune are going to drop in January. This material was meant to be post-release of Drum ‘n’ Bass for Papa, which long-time fans of Mr Vibert will no doubt be familiar with.
Anyway, it’s now getting a proper release via Ninja Tune. The album is called Back On Time and … [read more]

More of a visualisation than a straight up music video, but check out this little beauty Machinedrum created for his own track, Where Did We Go Wrong?, from the fantastic Room(s) album.
To be honest, I’d use any excuse to talk about Machinedrum‘s latest album. It’s out right now on Planet Mu and it’s absolutely fantastic. Easily one of the albums of 2011. Anyone who has followed his work over the last few years (and they’ll even be some who have followed him … [read more]
This is the double-feature video, produced & directed by The Ports, for the tracks Whatchalookin@ and Kill 4 Fun by J*DaVeY.
The two tracks are lifted from J*DaVeY‘s forthcoming new album, New Designer Drug, which as of yet doesn’t have an actual release date. The duo, comprising of Jack Davey and Brook D’Leau, have been wowing crowds from the neo-soul persuasion through to fans of avantgarde pop for a while now, so I think we’re all very much ready for … [read more]
