We’re pleased to be able to share with you today this teaser vid for BUG‘s upcoming debut EP on Jus Like Music Records, called Mechanical Soul. Due for release on 19 September, it encompasses BUG‘s unique soulful, head-nod sound, with a step towards the resurgence of that 80s nu-funk vibe. Sheep,Dog&Wolf is 17-year old Daniel McBride from New Zealand. Now, age is indeed but a number, but when you’ve read all I have to say in this review and you – hopefully – listen to his music, you’ll read my opening sentence once more for a bit of startling emphasis. Just 17 years old. Comparable to other alternative folk-rock artists like Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Beirut, Sheep,Dog&Wolf‘s Ablutophobia EP is an absolutely stunning array of organic instrumentation and sheer passion.
The wonderful Tanya Auclair is hosting a release party at the Servant Jazz Quarters, London N16 on Thursday 9th June. She’s being supported by the equally wonderful HowAboutBeth and also with a DJ set from the mighty Natural Self. Doors open at 730pm and tickets are just £5.
