EVENT: Poejazzi Presents The King’s Will, Tanya Auclair & James Massiah, LDN

Our friends at Poejazzi have just informed us of yet another fantastic event they are putting on in London. This time it sees The King’s Will, Tanya Auclair and James Massiah performing at The City Arts & Music Project (EC1Y) on Tuesday 13 December.

The King’s Will is a relatively new act, consisting of Musa Okwonga and Giles Hayter, who brilliantly combine ethereal electronica with astute and deep lyricism. Tanya Auclair is no stranger to Jus Like Music – having been featured on here plenty of times, as well as appearing as a guest on The Jus Like Music Show on NTS. Her profile is skyrocketing since appearing on Gilles Peterson’s radio show on BBC Radio 1, having a track on the latest Brownswood Bubblers compilation, plus performing in a pod on the London Eye as part of Red Bull’s recent event! But, it’s all for good reason. Tanya’s blend of exquisite instrumentation with haunting vocals is one of the most refreshing musical offerings we have seen in 2011. Also on the bill is spoken word artist, James Massiah, who has been championed by the likes of SB:TV, Spine TV and the Tate Modern.

Nothing more that I could possibly say would surely be able to sway you any further. You’re either in London and you’re going to this, or you’re not and you aren’t. Tickets are a mere £5 online – get ‘em bought.
