FREE: Metamono – Empty Game Zone

This is a bit out there, but I’m genuinely quite excited about the group known as Metamono. As weird/dull/arrogant (delete as appropriate) as this sounds, it’s not too often I get sent stuff I’ve totally not heard of AND like it. I mean the whole package as well; I’ve never heard of Metamono before now, or their label Ho Hum Records.

Anyway, to business! They describe themselves as being an electronic three-piece who observe and abide by a strict manifesto that includes things like never using “digital sound generation or sampling” – but, to be honest it’s not the quirks of their manifesto, or how they present themselves that appeals to me, it’s just the actual music itself.

Metamono are releasing an EP on 10-inch vinyl through Ho Hum Records on 31 October called the Tape EP. It’s a really warped experimental electronic release that is both deep and totally bizarre – but absolutely exquisite. You can actually stream the whole thing via Vimeo right now…

As an extra little gift, I have a FREE track from Metamono to give to you. It’s a track called Empty Game Zone

If you’re in London on 31 October you’ll be able to catch the guys live as part of Ho Hum’s Halloween party at The Elgin in Ladbroke Grove. More details on Facebook.
