GIG: The Doctor’s Orders 33: John Robinson

The Doctor's Orders 33

Want to see John Robinson live in London?! Of course you do! Well, The Doctor’s Orders 33 will see live appearances from John Robinson and Lowkey, as well as The Fun House Live with DJ MK & Harry Love and support from resident Doctor’s Orders stalwart, Spin Doctor himself. As the above flyer states, this is on Friday 4th September at Herbal (10-14 Kingsland Road, London E2) and tickets are £7 in advance (from and will be £10 on the door.

John Robinson has been around for a while, under various names and guises, and has worked with the likes of; MF DOOM, Flying Lotus, Madlib, Count Bass D, Danger Mouse, Carlos Niño, J. Rawls, Jneiro Jarel, the list really does go on and it’s no fluke – it’s a true deserved pedigree! I’m genuinely hyped for this performance and the news of an upcoming London appearance really caught me off-guard. If you consider yourself a hip-hop fan, then you’ll be there!

The night will also see one of the UK’s finest emcees spit his stuff. I am of course talking about Lowkey. Given his prolific workrate, it’s a rather ironic moniker that he carries – from appearing at Glastonbury to working with the Arctic Monkeys and Kool G Rap, Lowkey’s conscious cyphers turn heads where-ever he goes. DJ MK (Roots Manuva’s DJ) and Harry Love (ex-Scratch Pervert) are also giving a first airing of their project The Funhouse, which was a show they streamed live (on Ustream)  direct from Harry’s kitchen! Have no fear, if you cant get to Herbal in London on 4th September, The Funhouse Live will be streamed on the net for you to watch.

The Doctor’s Orders continues to put on one of the best regular hip-hop nights in London and never ceases to impress. So, get your act in gear and your tickets booked, cos this is gonna be a big one!
