Jazz Attitudes #2 in Paris!
There’s a revival going down in Paris! This rival comes in the form of the Jazz Attitudes party, of which #2 is happening on Saturday 16th May – so if you find yourself in the Parisian vicinity next weekend longing for an urban jazz fix with a wicked atmosphere, then you should get yourself down to Les Coulisses to check out the likes of Doctor Donuts, Da Vince, Koko and Psycut spinning that sweet, sweet stuff on the turntables!
Paris’ answer to Gilles Peterson’s famed nights at Dingwalls will take you through the jazzier spectrum of funk, hip-hop, neo-soul, broken beat and latin sounds. The first Jazz Attitudes party, last December, went down a treat and the next one looks very likely to exceed it. Paying homage to the great jazz sounds through history and labels like Blue Note and CTI, the Jazz Attitudes crew tastefully combine the more contemporary sounds from the likes of Jose James, Kero One, Jazzanova and Pete Rock – it’s all there and it’s gonna go off, so tell a friend.
Check out the Jazz Attitudes mix Psycut made for Paris DJs. Contains some heavy, heavy tracks, like Jazzy Joint by J.A.M featuring the wonderful Jose James, some Soil & “Pimp” and also some Auteur Jazz. Definitely a perfect appetiser for the party!
Shout-out to Nassim at Nujazz Spirit for the heads up.
