We’re back with the fourth installment in our Red Bull Music Academy 2010 candidate interviews, and this time it’s the turn of Russian producer Dza! If you haven’t checked them already, don’t forget to go back and check out the interviews we’ve done so far with Lunice, Kidkanevil and ANGO. But, right now, take a look at what Dza had to say for himself shortly before boarding his flight to London…

Another great lineup at Shoreditch venue Cargo, London EC2A, this Thursday (25th Feb). Continental Drifts’ acclaimed Arts Council-funded Global Local project joins forces with Wormfood!, best known for their ram-jammed nights at Passing Clouds and for curating Valley of the Antics at Secret Garden Party, for a special night at Cargo showcasing the best of the UK’s homegrown African underground scene.
The Worm – mixing the fatness of 21st century production with the roots of West Africa.
They’re back in London! I’m talking about Sweden’s Little Dragon, and they’re gonna be playing at The Garage, 20-22 Highbury Corner, N5 1RD on Thursday 4th March. Little Dragon‘s popularity seems to grow two-fold every time they perform in London, so be quick and snap up a ticket for £12.50 from the Ticket Web site before it’s too late!
The debut single from London’s BUG, which is called Cosmic Lab b/w 20 Winks, drops for free today on Jus Like Music Records. I’m gonna sound a bit biased because this is our release (the name of that record label’s not just a coincidence!), but we’ve always maintained extremely high standards here at Jus Like Music. So, if we’re feeling something enough to actually put it out, then it’s got to be a bit special, right?!
Jus Like Music: So, who are you and where do you come from?
ANGO: I’m ANGO, a first generation Scottish Canadian, born in the year of Purple Rain. Currently residing in the UNESCO design capital of the world, Montreal, with my girl and my dog.
JLM: And in your own words, what is it … [read more]

As recently documented, the Red Bull Music Academy 2010 is currently taking place in London. On Friday night I attended Sin City @ Plan B in Brixton, one of the thirty music events that has been scheduled to take place as part of this year’s Academy.
The concept of the night was to showcase the evolution of bass-driven sounds, with amongst others, renowned Kiss FM DJ David Rodigan representing traditional reggae and dub music, Kenny Ken and MC Skibadee playing an exclusive jungle and … [read more]
The second in our run of Red Bull Music Academy 2010 interviews (after last week’s with Lunice) is with none other than Kidkanevil. Fresh from releasing his latest album, Basho Basho, we caught up with Kidkanevil to get the lowdown on himself and his upcoming stint at the academy…
Jus Like Music: Humour me, who are you and where do you come from?
Kidkanevil: Kidkanevil, aka Kidyuki. From Tokyorkshire, up north.
JLM: What do you do?

I was recently interviewed by the guys over at Intruders.tv. As you’ll see from the above video, they ask me about the history of Jus Like Music, my thoughts on music blogging and where it is heading. There’s also some info on the upcoming Jus Like Music & Apple Juice Break present: Oscillations compilation, which I mentioned yesterday.
More info to come on Oscillations shortly, but for now, enjoy the video. Oh, please excuse my unruly barnet!
