Hello. Software eh? I cant 100% be certain that my current state of anguish is the fault of one last.fm, but all I know is that my iTunes was fine, then I had to upgrade the last.fm software. I re-opened iTunes afterwards and my library was empty, all playlists gone, all podcasts gone, it basically looked like a fresh install of iTunes. Don’t worry, the actual mp3s were still on my computer, but still a major pain in the arse having your library wiped. … [read more]
The end of a long week… the start of a great weekend? Every cloud, my friends, every cloud! Today’s track of the week is a combination of two very talented British fellas. One is signed to Tru Thoughts, and the other is signed to the Tru Thoughts sister label Zebra Traffic. TM Juke‘s 2003 album Maps From The Wilderness had a totally fresh blend of hip-hop, downtempo, and trip-hop. One of the tracks on the aforementioned album, Wilderness Kids, featured the … [read more]
TV on the Radio have literally just dropped their third album Return to Cookie Mountain in the US. The US copy has three bonus tracks; Snakes And Martyrs, an El-P remix of Hours, and Things You Can Do – well, lucky old me got sent a copy of the US release, so lets get to it…
In absolute honesty now, my appreciation of TV on The Radio before this new album was purely of the track Staring at the Sun – that’s not to say … [read more]
Sorry for the absence of blog entries over the last day or so, I’ve been trying to get a job. Well, you can only try, right? Anyway, it’s late, I need sleep… and a job. So take these tracks, digest them, and wait patiently for a more insightful, and perhaps more meaningful, blog entry soon.

You want gems? You got gems. A quick reminder on how this weekly feature works; all pages featured have had less than 10,000 page-views. If you know of any artists on MySpace, with less than that many page-views, that you think I should feature, please let me know. You can either email me to the address at the left, or send me a message and/or friends request (if you are an artist or band) at my personal MySpace page or the >>just like music MySpace … [read more]
Basement Jaxx return with fresh material. It’s always a worry when a greatest hits (oh, sorry, more trendy these days… The Singles) CD is released by an artist or group – always sews the seed of doubt as to whether we’ve seen the last of said act. Alas, avert your fears, Crazy Itch Radio is the new album from the Jaxx, and it’s a scorcher.
The 14 track offering starts with a very dramatic opera style Intro that left a friend of mine saying “that’s … [read more]
What to do, what to do? My conundrum is your bonus this week. I couldn’t decide between two tracks by the same artist… so I chose both, yup, two tracks for you this week. They’re by the artist known as Mr. Lif. He’s an emcee from Boston and is currently signed to Def Jux, he is infact one of very few emcees that I actually pay close attention to lyrically. His lyrical content is often deep and controversial, but it is the method of … [read more]
Guess who’s back… back again? Amp Fiddler‘s back… tell a friend. Following up from 2004′s Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly, Detroit’s funkiest fella is back with Afro Strut – twelve tracks of solid gold soul dynamite. Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly was immense, and certainly one of my albums of 2004, but Afro Strut sees Amp Fiddler return with a more refined product. The flavours have been blended in a more mature way, the end result is tighter and more pleasurable to thine ear. … [read more]
Remember I told you the other day bout Banksy’s Paris Hilton stunt? Well it turns out (and somehow I initially missed this detail) that even the contents of the actual CD were changed. And these ‘remixes’ were done by none other than Danger Mouse! Check out this video on YouTube of the actual stunt in preparation and then action. I’m gonna try and get hold of some of these remixes.
To turn the subject to a totally different matter now… I cant honestly … [read more]
