The Bits & The Pieces and NEW CUT CHEMIST!

Some news, some ramblings, and a couple of tracks off the new Cut Chemist album The Audience’s Listening for you to check out. Talk to me people, tell me stuff I might not know – it’s important for us to share to progress. Heaven forbid that we may regress!!! Before I get started, just a quick note to say that on the Just Like Music MySpace page there are now some wonderful musical tracks for you to listen to. These are tracks by artists I have previously featured on the blog or Unearthing MySpace Gems, check ‘em out y’all!

I mentioned a few weeks back that Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson had left the band, well, apparently it was just down to the touring, as had previously been suggested. Andy just didn’t like the stress of touring round the globe, fair enough I guess.

Outkast are going on tour, but actually it is just Big Boi, Andre 3000 cant be arsed! Not entirely sure how the tour will work, but I guess Big Boi will cope! Outkast still plan to release an album and movie, Idlewild, in August – the film is a sort of hip-hop affair set in the 1930s… hmmm.

As pretty much every person under the sun predicted… Lily Allen went to number one in the UK charts this past weekend with her single Smile. She knocked Shakira, her hips, and that bloke that used to be in the Fugees, from the top spot.

Pink Floyd original member, Syd Barrett, has sadly passed away aged 60. Complications with diabetes is cited as the cause of death. He joined Pink Floyd in 1965, but left just three years later after one album release. RIP.

On to something that is never out of the news… Music piracy – YARRR! In the UK the BPI is now requesting that people found to be sharing illegal files have their internet service suspended by their respective ISPs. Specifically at the moment the BPI are talking to Tiscali and Cable & Wireless. The BPI claimed that ISPs should now “put their houses in order and pull the plug on these people.” – well, the BPI continue their adventures of catching the naughty bad man!

Previously featured on Just Like Music a while back was Spillz, well he has a new track up on his MySpace page. It’s called Shady Lane. Check it out and show your support for one of the UK’s most talented up and coming hip-hop producers!

And so on to the Cut Chemist tracks! Well, what can I say? The new album The Audience’s Listening is quality stuff. The ex-J5 man certainly hasn’t disappointed with this record. So, don’t delay, buy it today! Here’s a couple of tracks to check out…
