Track of the Week

I'm sure you've all heard enough about my current time restraints, so I wont bore you, other than to say this weeks Track of the Week is once again not a new track. However, as I'm sure you are all aware, not new doesn't ever mean not good – alas this week's track is a belter…

Xploding Plastix are the Norwegian duo of Jens Petter Nilsen and Hallvard Hagen – although they also like to go under the names of Straight Randy and Uri Suggestive! They're an electro-funk group with a real emphasis on progressive sounds in the cinematic vein. This track Donca Matic is taken from their 2003 album The Donca Matic Singalongs, their second full length LP. The track has a slow build up, but it's definitely worth the wait – the main breakdown and chorus are spine chillingly enthralling. I know I'll be playing this track over and over for quite some time!

Although Xploding Plastix have been around since 2000, they've only actually released two full LPs; Amateur Girlfriends Go Proskirt Agents (2001) and The Donca Matic Singalongs (2003). Both have a distinctly different sound, but both are fantastic in their own right. Check them out as a priority!
