VIDEO: Mayer Hawthorne – Maybe So, Maybe No
Here’s the refreshingly simplistic video for Mayer Hawthorne’s track, Maybe So, Maybe No, from his debut album A Strange Arrangement, due out via Stones Throw in a couple of months. It’s a summery video for a summery song – all shot on locations around LA, and I recognised Venice Beach from when I was there myself in 2004.
I’ve heard A Strange Arrangement and I can confirm that Mayer Hawthorne has most definitely lived up to all the early expectations. It’s very retro and very sweet, but it has plenty of substance and I think it will appeal to a large variety of people. Don’t be too surprised if you end up seeing it on many “best of 2009″ lists at the end of the year. I should have a review up shortly.
